Excellent value river fishing for a multitude of species can be had on more than 20 stretches of the Yorkshire Ouse, Nidd, Derwent, Foss, Rye and Seven that the club controls. In addition, YDAA has seven stillwaters, including an estate lake (Park View), some lovely gravel and clay pits (Sand Hutton, Hemingbrough and Claxton), plus canal sections.

A club that offers access to miles of the Great Ouse holding big chub and perch, all for less than 50p a week to members! The Goosey and Black Barn areas just outside the town of Olney are well worth a visit, as is the stretch just below the town bridge.

Wellingborough and District Nene AC
Friendly and accessible with a fine selection of river sport on the Nene and Great Ouse, with big perch, rudd and chub among the pickings. It also has the Brian Crowhurst Ringstead Island Fishery comprising two great tench, carp and bream waters - Barkers and Brightwell’s – as well as another bit of the Nene, a lovely backwater and two pools (Mill Cotton Fishery). Numerous other stillwaters too, including Canons Ashby Lakes.

Scunthorpe Amalgamated Anglers
Loads of great stretches on this ticket, including Ladypitt Farm on the Trent which offers superb barbel and chub sport, as do South Clifton and Besthorpe. Good barbel, chub, dace, perch and grayling fishing can be had on the club’s Collingham stretch of the River Wharfe, while roach fans should head to the Wetherby Ings stretch. The club also has fishing on the River Nidd, and six sections of the Aire and Calder Canal, plus great stillwater sport at Carlston Hill Farm Ponds.

Doncaster DAA
A book offering good roach and skimmer sport on South Yorkshire’s big canals, including the Stainforth and Keadby, New Junction and Aire and Calder. You’ve also got the River Don from Sprotbrough Weir downstream to the weir below the second railway bridge, which can produce 20lb bags of silvers all year round, and the faster section from Crimpsall Sluice, which holds some cracking chub and barbel.

Big perch and chub are the main target for anglers visiting the club’s stretches of the Great Ouse, especially around Stony Stratford and Wolverton, with chub to over 7lb and perch to 4lb-plus.
