There's nothing quite like fishing a large, wild and open sheet of water. Whether you want to sit it out for some of the big bream or have a busy day fishing for the roach, perch and skimmers, there really is no better time to get out on these natural venues and catch some quality fish.

Brough Complex, Brough, East Yorkshire

You’ll find quality bream and tench on this Hull and District AA complex. Hawk Lake holds some cracking fish. It’s members only, but HDAA club books offer great value for money.

Anglezarke Resevoir, Chorley, Lancashire

This large, imposing water presents a challenge, but there are good bream to be had. Day tickets are available from Adlington Angling Centre.

Worsborough Reservoir, Barnsley, South Yorkshire

A favourite of many northern anglers, Worsbrough Reservoir is home to a fine head of bream and skimmers, along with some stunning carp.

There are at least six natural-style lakes here, one of the best being the 47-acre Bodymoor Heath, famed for its big bream.

Patshull Park, Wolverhampton, West Midlands

This scenic water is home to a good head of silverfish, not to mention some quality skimmers and ‘proper’ bream. Try a range of hookbaits on feeder gear to keep the bites coming.
