James Furness

James is the editor of Angling Times and has worked on the title since starting as a news reporter in 2006.
He is a keen carp angler but also enjoys a spot of tench fishing in the spring and perch fishing during the winter and has recently developed an obsession with buying rubber lures.
He is currently targeting a low-stick Cambridgeshire gravel pit and hopes to unravel some of its mysteries in the coming months.
Away from fishing he enjoys getting out and about with his French Bulldog, going to the gym and has reached that age in life where pottering in the garden is classed as good way to spend the weekend.

Tony Grigorjevs

Tony has been an angler for over three decades and his main interests lie in match fishing on commercial fisheries. He enjoys using a wide range of tactics and is equally comfortable fishing the long pole for F1s as he is chucking a Method feeder for big carp. While he used to be the editor at Improve Your Coarse Fishing, he now is Angling Content Lead at AT, rubbing shoulders with the best in the business every week on features.
He has also developed a great understanding of what makes a reliable piece of tackle and is well placed to help anglers make decisions on everything from the best hooks for a certain scenario to which pole will best suit someone’s needs.
Tony does step away from the competitive side of angling at times though, taking his 9-year-old twins fishing at venues in the Midlands. He’s also enjoyed targeting crucian carp at Buscot Park, searching for a personal best grayling and roving for chub when he’s away from the match scene. Alvechurch Fisheries, Manor Farm Leisure and Pipehill Fisheries are amongst his favourite venues to visit.
