Matthew Fernandez finally brought his struggles on a low-stock southern gravel pit to an end by landing this 15lb 8oz bream.
“After an uneventful few sessions last autumn I was keen to get back on the bream hunt this year, and with a spell of milder weather upon us I felt confident.
“Knowing that the bream feed at night, I wasn’t in a rush to get the rods out, and I took my time feeding a mixture of pellets and boilies at 100 yards.
“Using a 14mm dumbell hookbait tipped with a buoyant piece of corn, I had a drop-back bite around 1am and the adrenaline began to kick in! I’d landed my first bream from the venue – a new PB of 15lb 8oz. Fingers crossed for another monster soon!”
