One of the best silverfish venues in the land showed why it has been labelled with such a lofty status when it produced over 2,600lb of roach, perch and skimmers during the latest festival.
A field of 55 anglers turned out to compete in the Silver Cup at Coventry’s Meadowlands Fishery, with a whole host of star names involved.

The venue was in sublime form for the two-day contest and at the end of proceedings, it was Lee Kerry that came out on top.
The Drennan Barnsley Blacks and England star kicked off his campaign with a highly impressive 54lb 4oz from peg 7 on Warren Pool to win the section, before backing that up with a second in zone with 41lb from peg 5 on the same lake, giving him a three point total.
That saw him tied with two other anglers, but Lee’s superior weight overall gained him the silverware and £1,600 prize.
Second went to Adam Wakelin, with Lee Wright finishing off the frame.
The venue will host yet another big money match this weekend when qualifiers of the Halkon Hunt sponsored On The Flyer Winter Classic Final compete, with £10,000 set to go to the winner.
