OVER the last few years, Norfolk angler Robbie Northman has been on a quest to catch specimen chub, perch, zander and pike on lures, and finally completed his mission after landing this 30lb 2oz ‘croc’.
Fishing an 11cm shad at an unnamed stillwater, he’d caught a few small jacks before hitting into what he instantly knew was a huge fish. After what Robbie describes as ‘one of the greatest fights of my life’, he finally slipped the net under his first lure-caught 30-pounder.
It completes his set of a 7lb chub, 4lb perch, and double-figure zander – all on lures.
