Matt Atkins has landed the largest reported perch of the season at 5lb 1oz.
Matt, who has now taken four perch over 5lb as well as a six-pounder, was boat fishing on the Thames, and this fish is his first ‘five’ from running water.
He proved the effectiveness of livebaits at singling out the largest perch by catching this fish on a free roving dace fished in 9ft of slack water.
