Although he’s only seven years old, Leo Deprieelle is building an impressive list of predator PBs, having just added this 13lb 2oz zander!

Earlier this year, he hit the headlines with a 5lb 1oz perch, and followed it up with the big ‘zed’ on a trip to the River Severn with his dad, John.

Leo was fishing a two-inch soft rubber lure on a 5g jig head, which had just hit bottom when line started peeling from his reel.

“There was chaos as the fish bored deep, and I assumed a rogue pike might be to blame,” dad John told us.

“After almost losing it around the transducer, it surfaced and we both looked at each other, with Leo shouting, ‘it’s massive!’

“The catch won’t be forgotten in a hurry,” John added.

“Leo is pretty much obsessed with fishing now, which is great news for me, as it’s all he wants to do!”
