Angling Times has once again partnered with Parkers – the definitive resource for car buying advice in the UK – to bring you the award for the Best Seven-Seater Car in its prestigious New Car Awards 2025. The winner is the Kia EV9, and it is one of a total of 10 award-winning cars revealed today (21 October) by Parkers.

The all-electric Kia EV9 takes the win because as comfortable and well-equipped as a Range Rover, but it costs about half as much. To sweeten the deal, it’s built on the Hyundai Group’s industry-leading EV platform which means it has a real-world range of around 300 miles and charge times that are almost as convenient as refuelling a petrol car.

Parkers editor Keith Adams says: “It's packed with party tricks, such as a bi-directional charging function. Such tech allows you to use a portion of the car’s battery capacity to power laptops and camping gadgets on the move using the three-pin sockets in the cabin. That’s great for keeping your kit powered on long fishing trips away in the middle of nowhere – a great feature for Angling Times’ readers.”

The winning car has been tested rigorously by the Parkers.co.uk team, which judged the best seven-seater cars on a combination of value, quality, reliability, cost-per-month on finance deals and fitness-for-purpose.

"In this year's New Car Awards, more than half of the winners – as well as our overall Car of The Year – are electric, which shows a huge shift in the competence and usability of these cars. But we also acknowledge that EVs still won’t work for enough people until we have more street charging, so the awards are peppered by lots of highly commended petrol and hybrid alternatives,” Keith adds.

Now in its eighth year, the Parkers New Car Awards 2025 reflects the constantly-evolving views of Britain's car-buying public, with winners decided by a combination of the site's expert reviewers' verdicts in thousands of miles of road testing and the purchasing habits of the website's 2.3 million users actively involved in the buying process.
