Jerry Brown was left ‘buzzing for hours’ after landing this superb 18lb 10oz barbel from the bang in-form King’s Weir on the River Lea.

However, Jerry did things slightly differently, tempting this specimen on a piece of Tandoori-flavoured luncheon meat, presented on a running rig in a swim he’d prebaited with a few mixed pellets.

Once he hooked the fish, it kited behind an overhanging bush, so Jerry had to hold firm with the rod kept low to steer the fish out safely, before slipping the landing net under his hard-won prize.
