Astonishing 656lb haul of carp wins frantic winter match

There were more jaw dropping scenes at the nation’s premier bagging water when the winner of the latest match weighed in an astonishing 656lb 8oz.

Dorset’s Todber Manor Fisheries has been in top form all year and the fast and frantic action showed no signs of letting up during the latest contest.

Venue expert Tony Gilbert put the huge haul together, fishing short pole tactics from peg 43 on Hill View Lake for carp to 7lb.

He was the clear winner on the day, but the fish certainly weren’t shoaled up tightly, with big weights required to win the other two sections in the open event.

Mark Wynne’s 300lb 14oz from peg 47 won B section, with Phil Hardwick placing 271lb 4oz on the scales from peg 59 to secure top spot in C section.
