Barnsley Blacks bolster squad with ‘terrific’ youth signing

The powerhouses of team match fishing that are Drennan Barnsley Blacks have added one of the nation’s hottest prospects to their ranks.

Elite performers including Lee Kerry, Matt Godfrey and Alan Scotthorne are regular performers for what are widely described as one of the greatest teams ever, and but they’ve now turned to youth to bolster the squad.

Josh Newman has been signed by Drennan Barnsley Blacks.

England under 25 international Josh Newman has been building a solid reputation with his impressive performances on natural waters and that consistency has been rewarded with the offer to join Barnsley.

Speaking on his Facebook page, Lee Kerry said: “What a terrific signing for the team. Josh is an angler that I feel has a huge future ahead of him!”

Josh is immediately available for selection and will hope to get picked on numerous occasions during what will once again be a busy year for Barnsley.
