Bennett bags 67lb silvers net on the waggler in convincing victory

Match angling superstar Andy Bennett put another win under his belt with a huge haul of silvers from one of his favourite commercials.

The Guru-backed star entered the silverfish open at Bolton’s Bradshaw Hall Fisheries and plucked peg eight on Lake Two out of the draw bag.

He decided to leave his pole in the holdall and work with just one waggler rod and it proved to be an inspired choice as he worked his way to a winning 67lb 4oz netful. Rotating depths between 3.5ft and 7ft deep, he used maggots to keep big skimmers, ide and roach coming throughout the day to secure a convincing victory.

Dave Coulson took second place, weighing in 44lb 14oz from peg nine on the same pool.
