He’d started the session on floating crust, but couldn’t get a take, so he switched to trotting a piece of bread flake 2ft deep.

After first wading through a few smaller fish, he finally hit into his target, which weeded him up near the bank. Thankfully, the 4lb line he was using straight through to the hook held firm, and he bundled the fish into the net.
