Records galore were broken during a festival at a top commercial, with no less than four landmarks smashed as the hectic action unfolded.

Bedfordshire’s How End Fisheries hosted its two-day summer festival and venue regular Pete Archer got the ball rolling by smashing the Yasi’s Lake record with an impressive 289lb 4oz.

His achievement was soon overshadowed when word got around that the action had been even hotter on Dani’s Lake, with 84-year-old Terry Lancaster obliterating the whole venue record with 317lb 4oz of carp from peg 8 on the very same day.

That best was short lived though, with Pete showing no mercy on day two as he upped the overall record again, this time with a jaw-dropping 401lb 6oz of carp from peg 2 on Dani’s.

The final record was the lowest weight of all the landmarks, but it was arguably the most impressive of the lot.

Venue boss Phil Stone has had his eyes set on a 100lb net of silvers for an age and he finally hit that target, weighing in 115lb 9oz of mainly ide from Yasi’s.
