The nation’s most famous big weight complex has moved to widen its appeal by turning one of its lakes into a silverfish haven.

Dorset’s Todber Manor Fisheries has produced countless huge hauls of carp in recent years, with match catches breaking the 1,000lb barrier at times.

The venue has four lakes on the match and pleasure side of the site, with Ash now in the middle of a major revamp.

A large proportion of the carp have been removed from it, with large numbers of roach and skimmers taking their place.

The first trial match on the lake proved to be a big success with the top three sharing over 75lb between them.

Nick King topped the field with 28lb, Mick Donaghue was second with 24lb and Chris Albiston finished the frame off with 22lb 15oz.
