THE River Trent has been in immense form this season, throwing up big barbel after big barbel. Species enthusiast Craig Gregson is the latest to enjoy what this amazing river has to offer, landing this 18lb 5oz fish on a meat hookbait.
He’d been struggling all day so he decided to change his tactics, putting on a longer, 3ft hooklink. After this, he was into the powerful fish that battled for 20 minutes, going on 10 long, powerful runs before finally slipping into the net.
