Daiwa pledge further support for CRT ‘Global Communities Celebration’

Daiwa have pledged continued support for the Canal & Rivers Trust global communities celebration with additional sponsorship. This will include sponsorship of 4 regional events and a regional team league.

Daiwa global communities celebration

The event will see 250 to 270 invited young anglers from over 35 countries covering four age groups:

  • Cadets 6 to 10 years of age on 01/01/25

  • Young juniors 11 & 12 years of age on 01/01/25

  • Full juniors 13 to 15 years of age on 01/01/25

  • Youth 16 to 20 years of age on 01/01/25

There will be tackle gifts for all participants, and the events will be covered on social media via facebook.

Daiwa regional events

Amongst a full calendar of regional events being organised by the Canal & River Trust, Daiwa will sponsor four dates for up to 50 young anglers per event.

Three age groups:

  • Youth

  • Young & Full juniors

  • Cadets

Again there will be tackle gifts for all participants.

Dates and locations

  • May 18th - Leighton Buzzard, Three Locks

  • June 22nd - Ellesmere Port

  • July 13th - Barlaston

  • Aug 9th - Wombourne

Daiwa 'Lets Fish' league

Individual

Ran throughout the calendar of the regional events, the Trust will run a points league. Daiwa will award £500 tackle voucher to the top young angler in each category; Cadet, Junior and Youth. These will be awarded/presented on day 1 of the National Celebration Event.

Daiwa Team League

All winning teams from each region will automatically enter into a Grand Final, to be held at Blythe Waters Fishery on Sat 18th April 2026.

Daiwa will award every entrant with a certificate, commemorative garment and cap plus trophies for winning team in each category. Daiwa will also cover the final on Facebook.

Daiwa's continued support

Canal and River Trust, National Fisheries and Angling Manager John Ellis is excited by the increased support from Daiwa "Our Let’s Fish programme has a track record of creating new anglers with the regular fishing habit."

With their whole focus on grass roots and young anglers, we have had no hesitation in growing our commitment for 2025. The combination will now equate to over £15,000 in tackle and awards."
