Superstar angler Des Shipp had a true red later day during his latest match when he banked a colossal 144lb of bream...yet it was still only good enough for third overall!

The Preston Innovations and SonuBaits backed star was taking part in the contest at Wiltshire's Shearwater Lake and decided to work with an XR Banjo feeder at 57m, loading it with a blend of micro pellets and ground bait.

It was a ploy that worked a treat throughout the day, with over 40 quality slabs going into his keepnets.

It was the venue's big carp that dominated the top two though, with Mike Brown relying on the pellet waggler to haul out a mammoth 225lb of them from a swim on the dam wall. That made him the clear winner of the day, with second placed Rob Manns working his way to a 170lb total, fishing the Method feeder.
