“The other night I went feeder fishing on the Dorset Stour, aiming to catch some chub. I used a Kamasan Black Cap feeder, filled with maggots, and two grubs on the hook.
“My first fish was a 4lb 8oz chub, so I was off to a good start. Soon after, I hooked what I thought was another chub, but when I saw it, my knees went weak! I thought it must be a roach/bream hybrid, but when it was in the net I realised it was a true roach.
“Weighing 3lb exactly, it’s a dream fish and smashes my previous 2lb 8oz PB that I landed over 10 years ago. Catching it was incredible.”
