Drennan Cup Champion Simon Daley continued his fine run of form recently with another cracking specimen fish landed, in the shape of this 7lb 8oz chub.
He told Angling Times:
“After landing chub of 6lb 4oz and 5lb 11oz on an after-work session on the Thames, I returned to the river the following night.
“Fishing boilies, at around 2am the rod wrapped round and after a short but hectic fight I slid the net under an immense Thames chub of 7lb 8oz.
"If that wasn’t enough, just as I was getting the camera set up my downstream rod went into meltdown as something much larger headed off downriver.
"After a strong battle in the flow I landed a barbel of 15lb 14oz and had the two specimens side by side on the unhooking mat. What a session!”
