The Norfolk Broads have been in exceptional form for big pike over recent seasons, and while many of the very best captures are kept quiet, one angler reported a memorable spell of fishing at the end of the season.
George Papp banked this specimen weighing 34lb 8oz, alongside another of 26lb 9oz, in a very productive week’s fishing. A native of Hungary, George has spent the last 15 years fishing for pike in the UK, these latest two being the culmination of his efforts.
Floatfished roach deadbaits did the trick, and while George has now packed the pike rods away, after ending the campaign on such a high, he’s already looking forward to October!
NOW THE PIKE SEASON IS OVER, WHY NOT TRY LURE FISHING FOR PERCH?
