The largest carp ever caught by a female angler from UK waters was landed this past week, in the shape of Waterside Fishery's 'Big Common' at a whopping 63lb 11oz.
WANT TO CATCH THE BIGGEST CARP IN THE LAKE YOURSELF? HERE'S HOW TO DO IT!
27-year-old Ria Bignell was the proud captor of the highly desirable Buckinghamshire fish, which is tipped to potentially be a future British record one day.
After depositing a mixture of Five Star Baits Fish Mix boilies and pellets to the far margin with a bait boat, Ria sat back and waited, with the bite coming at midnight...
"The rod screamed off and the fight was so strong, I didn't get a proper look at it for about 20 minutes," she told us.
Unaware of how heavy the fish she was attached to was, once in the net, Ria's husband said: "I think it's the big one!"

"I couldn't believe it," Ria said.
"We knew it was in there but never expected to be lucky enough to actually catch it.
"After a few precious photos, the bailiff helped with the release, which was such a massive moment for me."
She not only finished the session with a few smaller carp to just under the 20lb mark, but her name was now etched in carp fishing history. The impressive fish is not only one of the UK's biggest commons, but the biggest carp ever caught by a female angler in this country - what an incredible achievement!
