Every year thousands of UK anglers head across the channel in search of monster French carp, but few comeback with a result resembling that of RidgeMonkey's UK Sales Manager Dan Hawkes' recent trip.
Fishing Lake Serene in the Champagne region, Dan experienced the session of a lifetime, banking 19 fish, including 12 over 50lb and the lake's biggest resident at a whopping 89lb.
His backup fish were equally impressive, with his top five weighing 89lb, 75lb, 68lb 4oz, 65lb and 59lb.

"It was a dream session and one I will never forget, my obsession to catch 'The Big Girl' was finally achieved," he said.
Wanting to use something visual and super attractive, Dan opted for a mix of crushed and whole Mainline Essential Cell boilies which had been soaked in Pineapple and Fruit Smart Liquid.
Over the top he fished Essential Cell Quad hookbaits, presented on D-rigs tied with RidgeMonkey Apex Medium Curve hooks and a 35lb Camo X Rock Bottom soft coated hooklink.
