WITH the HS2 project building a railway through his favourite tench water, Korda TV production and project manager Gary Newman was forced to find a new venue, and settled on an 80-acre Home Counties gravel pit.
Arriving for a 48-hour session, Gary got into a swim he fancied, cast out a Method feeder armed with a buoyant double caster hookbait, and baited up over the top with chopped worm, hemp and caster.
Gary enjoyed steady action through the hours of daylight, landing 20 tench topped by an 11lb 4oz giant.
