For the past three seasons Peter Wade has targeted crucian carp at a Midlands park lake, taking fish to 3lb. However, on a recent trip he blew his previous best for the species out of the water when he landed this superb 4lb 5oz specimen.

For most of his sessions Peter had used open-end feeders, packed with liquidised bread and hemp, and a cylinder of punched meat on the hook, but on this latest visit he changed to a mini Method feeder alongside a yellow wafter hookbait, and duly landed the four-pounder.
