ONE of Britain’s leading bait companies is now running its operations using solar power as part of an ambitious drive to switch to solely sustainable energy.

In 2021 Dynamite Baits embarked on a ground-breaking journey to become the country’s first carbon-neutral bait manufacturer by 2025, and the firm has now finished installing solar panels on the roof of its Nottinghamshire HQ.

“It’s been time-consuming, but we now have an office full of people working purely off solar energy,” said operations manager Dave Spence. “This is just phase one of the project. We’re set to convert another building soon, and by the end of the year we want to manufacture all our bait by sunlight.”

He added: “The solar panels will lead to a 63 per cent reduction in our carbon footprint. I said we’d be carbon-neutral by 2025, and we’re well on the way!”
