Going up against 79 other anglers across four matches throughout the Summer, the triple Fish O’Mania champ emerged triumphant after the final leg at Barston Lakes to take the £3,000 prize, lift the silver claret jug trophy and more importantly for him, have the accolade of UK Champion to sit alongside a host of other plaudits.

Finishing on six points, the Matrix/SonuBaits man was two clear of last year’s champion Steven Forster, Matt Pillay finishing third overall, the win making you think ‘what else is there that Jamie hasn’t won?’
“This was one I wanted to win, to tick off the list if you like,” Jamie said. “I’d only fished the UK Champs a few times before, as it always clashed with midweek qualifiers for Fish O and Match This, but this year I said to myself that I’d give it a proper go and see what happens.”
