Lee McManus has been crowned the 2022/23 Drennan Cup champion.
The Leicester ace topped a strong field to take specimen fishing's most prestigious award, after two intense weeks of voting by former Drennan weekly award winners.

He pipped former champion Alan Stagg to the coveted annual trophy after a phenomenal 12 months of angling during which he won five awards – the most of anyone in the race – for huge bream (16lb 14oz & 17lb 11oz), barbel (17lb 14oz), zander (16lb 6oz) and perch (4lb 12oz).
"It’s unbelievable – I thought my chance was gone when I finished second a few years ago. I expected one of the southerners to win it!” Lee told Angling Times in a recent interview.
“I didn’t specifically set out to win the Cup this season – I just did my usual fishing and hoped for a personal best or two. Thankfully, a few came along.”
