A PIKE session on a stillwater in the North West didn’t start well for Manchester angler Joe Parody, after he slipped over on the way to his swim and snapped the foot off one of his reels.
However, when he landed this immaculate PB pike of 30lb 9oz, the broken bit of kit was soon forgotten!
Joe’s legered sardine was picked up mid-morning and he struck into the massive predator, which he said hung deep and held firm, and managed to snag him up at one point during the fight.
However, by offering a bit of slack line and changing the angle of attack, he managed to free the fish.
