When booked on a trip with Monster Catfishing Tours on Spain's River Ebro, anglers expect to be hooking giants, but Andrew Bebbington wasn't expecting to catch a fish just 7lb short of the Ebro record on his visit.
He had already landed catfish weighing up to 135lb on the trip, with his friend Tony banking a 170lb specimen too, however, these would turn out to be mere kittens in comparison to the fish that would take his bait at 20:00 the next day.

"The cat rod bent over and what a fight Andy had," guide Peter Irwin said.
"When this one came to the surface, we knew it was very big.
"At 250lb, Andy was over the moon and it is the 3rd biggest catfish ever to be landed by a British angler from the Ebro - a proper result in hard river conditions!"
