Winner of ‘TV Show of the Year’ in the 2022 National Angling Awards, Monster Carp returns to our screens this week for another exciting series.
The likeable pair of Tom Dove and Neil Spooner are embarking on some of their toughest challenges yet, tackling not only vast waterways and big fish, but also some imposing locations.
The curtain comes up on Season 8 this Thursday (July 6) on ITV4, with the intrepid duo targeting giants scaling over 90lb in Croatia’s Lake Zajarki, a 60-acre water where the fishing is both physically and mentally demanding.

“There’s adventure, huge carp, danger and possibly the mention of Dovey’s hairline in this new series,” joked Spooner.
In the next episode, the pair visit one of their most dangerous venues yet, when they travel to South Africa for wild common carp that grow to over 40lb.
Contending with severe weather conditions and potentially hazardous wildlife (Tom is terrified of creepy crawlies!) the friends also have to fish at longer distances than ever before, and are pushed out of their comfort zones in more ways than one.

The show moves closer to home for episode three, when Neil and Tom tackle the Road Lake at Gigantica in France. Showcasing why thousands of UK anglers make the crossing each year, both are looking to get stuck into big French fish, but things get ultra-competitive when they end up on opposite sides of the lake.
The finale then sees the team take on the ultimate angling challenge, as they head to the vast 12,500-acre Lac du Der- Chantecoq in search of the world’s biggest wild carp. Will they be able to catch the 103lb common that lives there?
