Mickey Donohoe hit the river angler's jackpot right at the end of the season, when he banked this monster 3lb 10oz roach.
He told Angling Times the story of his fish of a lifetime:
“After fishing the River Frome in Dorset 50 times over the past 12 years, in the last week of the season I landed my largest and best roach ever – a giant weighing 3lb 10oz!
“I’d been working in Wareham, and after I finished I was enjoying a couple of hours’ fishing the feeder, using double maggot on the hook, when I connected with this remarkable fish.
“I’ve spent a lot of time on this venue since moving to Dorset, and all of the effort has paid off with what is my best fish in 65 years of angling.
"It’s my new personal best by three-quarters of a pound.”
