It is that time again where we ask you to vote for your Carp Angler of the Year in our inaugural National Angling Awards.
Voting closes at midnight Monday 1st December 2025 and you can place your vote using the link at the bottom of the page!
Mark Holmes
Even by Mark’s high standards, 2025 proved to be a special year. The ever-consistent big-carp angler slipped his well-used net under a staggering seven UK fifties and 14 UK forties.
The highlight was undoubtedly catching one of his three target waters’ two biggest fish in one session at weights of 51lb 14oz and 51lb 2oz, putting him in an elite group of anglers to have a brace of UK fifties to their name.

Tom Maker
A hugely prolific carp angler, Tom has once again been kept busy hauling from waters both in the UK and Europe. The highlights include fish to over 60lb from Lake Zajarki in Croatia and personal best French mirror and common carp.
On home soil he started fishing the famous Cardiff Wharf in the summer and recently landed the venue’s biggest carp at 43lb 2oz. This was promptly followed by a 40lb mirror from Linear Fisheries’ Brasenose One.

Karl Pitcher
A long-standing member of Carp Team England, Karl was ranked number one in the world of competition carp fishing following the updating of the FIPSed world rankings after the 2025 World Carp Championships in Croatia.
Fishing for England since 2016, Karl was part of the 2018 bronze medal squad, won gold in 2022 and added silver to his collection at this year’s event.

Adam Reed
Adam may be well known for the Korda Podcast, but he isn't half bad at carp fishing either, catching some magnificent fish this year. Earlier in the season he banked a second UK 50, in the shape of this 56lb 12oz common, but it was his efforts on the Thames that really caught a lot of people's attention. Not only did he catch a boat load of stunning carp, he managed a superb upper-30 mirror to cap off a memorable season.

Perry Alabaster
Perry has always been a constant angler, but he has had a standout year in 2025. It started in fine form, with him catching a personal best 59lb 7oz mirror from his Cambridgeshire syndicate in the depths of winter. This was then backed up with several other 40lb-plus fish throughout the year.

Tom Stokes
The popular West Midlands-based angler enjoyed a busy 2025 with highlights including the highly sought after fully-scaled mirror known as the Lord of the Manor at 57lb from JC Fisheries’ The Manor, a 44lb 2oz common on a floatfished piece of sweetcorn from Angel Lakes in Shropshire, and he broke the Norton Disney Billy’s Lake record with the lake’s first forty at 41lb.

Dave Lane
One of carp fishing’s true greats, who needs no introduction, Dave has had another stellar year, catching huge carp from any water he touches. From low-stock syndicates to high-stock day-ticket lakes, carp are usually never safe for long! Adding to the multiple 40s that have graced his net this season, Dave also managed to beat his surface-caught PB with this lovely old mirror weighing 45lb 15oz!
