With some stunning performances this year, here is a quick reminder of the year that our nominees have had to help you choose your overall winner!
Samantha Sim
Samantha Sim became World Ladies Champion back in August this year. Winning her section on day one, with a second place day two that was enough to crown her World Champion for the first time...Let's hope she can defend it next year!
Kayleigh Dowd
Kayleigh needs little introduction on the match fishing stage, having won multiple opens at the Oaks Lakes as well as everywhere else she competes. Kayleigh also earned a bronze medal at the Ladies World Championships this year and further represented her country with the England Ladies Carp Team at the World Champs in Latvia.
Amy Emery & Aimee Eaton
The duo of Amy and Aimee stormed to the final of the British Carp Angling Championships this year, making them the first all-female pairing to reach the prestigious final held at Broadlands Lakes
Naomi Turner
Naomi Turner hit the headlines this year when she caught what is currently the biggest carp in the country, a truly staggering 72lb 12oz, from Holme Fen.
Leanne Knott
Leanne Knott won this year's Women's National held at MAP Marston Fields, finishing with a total weight of 31kg 975g. This achievement helped her qualify for the hugely popular 2024 Fish 'O' Mania final.
Ellen Beedham
Ellen Beecham is the current Ladies Carp Team England captain, Ellen has also qualified for the BCAC Shield event in 2025 with her partner Antonia Bevilacqua. While international results haven't quite gone their way recently, Ellen continues to perform in domestic carp match events.
May Potter
May has been match fishing at the highest level for years, also fishing internationally with the England Ladies team this year. She also continues to be a great ambassador for the sport with her online presence and live match videos, encouraging more anglers to get into the sport.
Emily Mather
Another rising star in the match fishing world is Emily Mather. The Matrix-backed angler is always up for a challenge, competing in numerous festivals and open matches. With regular wins in open competitions this year, Emily, despite only a few years of competitive fishing experience, has already represented Scotland on the international stage.
Sami Edmunds
Sami claimed her third consecutive National Fly Fishing Championship title this year at Grafham Water, winning the event five times in the last six years. This victory secured her a spot on the England Ladies team in the Fly Fishing International Championships. Sami also came third in the Team England Loch Style National competing alongside 114 male anglers so will also represent England in the spring international at Rutland in May. It has been many years since a lady has qualified to fish in the TEFF international competition. She also captained the ladies team this year and won gold at Brenig.
Kathryn Davies
Kathryn is well-established on the open match fishing circuit, competing with the best anglers in the country. The Garbolino angler has held her own in festivals while qualifying for the MAP Pole Masters and various other events across the country. The future is definitely bright for Kathryn, with many tipping her for the top in the coming years!
