Plans to grow match fishing in the South of England have been revealed.

Fisheries in the North and Midlands hold dozens of big money qualifiers every year, with the South holding very few due to its history of struggling to sell them out.

The organisers of Fish South believe the appetite for such events has started to grow and have launched several new festivals where thousands of pounds will be paid out to the winners.

Rookery Waters, Puddledock Farm and White Springs will each host a two-day tournament, with up to £9,200 set to be in the prize pot. The top five overall will be paid out, with the top three each day and five section winners also taking home cash prizes to make sure the pot is well spread.
