Predator fishing fanatic Ash Edwards started the new year with a bang as he smashed his perch personal best twice within minutes.

The Coventry-based angler headed for a flooded River Thames and worked with an 8cm Crazy Fish Nimble lure on a cheb rig.

It didn’t take long for the setup to produce the goods either, with a 3lb 13oz specimen coming early in the session to convincingly smash his previous best of 2lb 12oz.

Things were about to step up another gear though and another few casts in the same area produced another bite soon after. The fish felt heavy from the word go and after a nervy battle Ash smashed his best yet again, with the giant going 4lb 8oz on the scales.

Ash blogs all his exploits alongside another pair of anglers on The Hairy Pikers Facebook page, with fellow predator experts Stephen Bellion and Richard Huckvale also sharing their latest catches on it.
