Lee Miller had the shock of his life recently when he caught a tench that is potentially the biggest ever landed, weighing 15lb 9oz.

While carp fishing in France, Lee was actually playing a 40lb carp when his other rod screamed off with what he presumed was another carp, so he handed the rod to Connor from the swim next door. However, as the fish surfaced, they were utterly stunned as a tench bigger than anything they had ever seen greeted them.

"The session was going great, I had just landed a 47 lb mirror when my middle rod went off again," Lee told us.

"I presumed it was a small carp, so I handed the rod to Connor who was in the swim next door to me, but I could not have prepared myself for what eventually surfaced."

"I just stared in awe as I looked at the tench in the net. It was enormous, I thought it must be close to 20lbs. Truly the biggest fish I've ever seen."

"It looked bigger than the 15.9 lbs the scales were showing, but I was thrilled to see such a perfect fish that had never seen a hook before," he said.
