PERCH are known for the angry, head-shaking fight they give, but this 4lb 13oz specimen went on a series of surging runs before being landed by Sean Corbett.

He was fishing the in-form Grafham Water with his friend, Karl Bird, and had the fish on a 10cm shad just as he started his retrieve.

The powerful yet unusual fight had Sean convinced he’d hooked a zander, before a flash of stripes and red fins told him he was attached to his target species.
