AFTER kicking off the season with a fine 3lb 10oz rudd on opening morning, Ryszard Warman has continued his rich vein of form on the Fen drains, landing another giant scaling 3lb 14oz.
A few days prior to making the catch, the Cambridgeshire angler had another lovely rudd of 3lb 6oz but, feeling there were even bigger ones about, he was back on the trail the next evening after work. After locating a few good fish, he introduced some groundbait and liquidised bread, ready for a return at dawn the following day.
At 4am he was on the bank and managed a few small fish on slow-sinking breadflake before noticing another rudd swirl for a loose offering. He wasted no time in casting at the fish and was rewarded for his observational skills with an instant take. The new personal best ends a remarkable first month of the season for Ryszard.
