Big bream have to be one of the most impressive specimen coarse fish to look at, and you'll struggle to find a better example of the species than this amazing 19lb 5oz fish banked by Oliver Evans.

The huge slab fell during a two-night session on a Midlands gravel pit, where Oliver had originally planned to target carp. However, after receiving no indications the first night and seeing what he believed to be a big bream roll near his baited spot, he switched his focus to catching them instead.

"I knew there was a small head of very large bream in this water and I didn't want to pass up what could be a golden opportunity to catch one," he said.

His new PB took a 15mm bottom bait tipped with a grain of plastic corn, this was presented on a helicopter rig, incorporating a supple braid and a size 8 hook, fished over a bed of particles.

"The width of the fish was simply unbelievable," Oliver said.
