TARGETING really big bream by design can be a notoriously time-consuming affair, but patience eventually paid off for Leicester angler Lee Snow when he landed this fine 17lb 8oz fish from a rock hard 160-acre southern pit.
Lee, who is a joiner by trade, has fished the venue on and off this season, but had little to show for his efforts until he received a single bite just after 7am on the second morning of a recent session.
It came from a gravel bar 130 yards out, where he’d introduced a hefty 20kg of pellets and spod mix. The fish fell to a single grain of fake corn on a size 16 hook, presented on a helicopter rig.
