Tackle shop buys 136 junior angling club permits to hand out for free

A tackle shop is set to donate over £650 worth of angling club memberships to try and get more juniors involved in fishing.

Merseyside’s St.Helens AA hold the rights to a series of locally renowned stillwaters, canals and rivers close to the town.

Carr Mill Dam is just one of the superb waters on the ticket.

The outfit have long been committed to boosting youth participation, selling annual permits for just £5 a year to under 16s.

Bosses at St Helens Tackle & Bait have gone even further though after it was revealed that they have bought 136 junior permits that will be handed out for free.

A fundraising drive helped the tackle shop collect enough cash to make the kind gesture possible.
