Applications for a scheme aimed at finding match angling’s next set of superstars has been launched.
The 2024 Guru and Angling Trust Talent Pathway is inviting talented youngsters aged 10 to 15 years old to apply for a spot on the coveted project.

Those that are successful in gaining a place will gain one to one coaching from elite anglers such as Matt Godfrey, Frankie Gianoncelli and James Dent during coaching days on March 16 and 30 before the final assessment is held on April 6.
All three events will be staged at Warwickshire’s Makins Fishery, with an expert panel analysing each participants performance at the end. Those deemed to have excelled will then be in with a shot of representing England in the under 15s World Championships in Serbia next summer.

Applicants must have plenty of experience of competing in matches and own a pole of at least 13m that has three or more top kits and a cupping kit. They must be able to set up and fish themselves without help from parents or guardians and be highly competent in preparation elements such as hook tying, pole rig making and mixing groundbait.
Successful candidates will be liable to pay a £100 entry fee and will receive a Guru and Mainline Match groundbait and prep park that is worth more than £100.
