Alan Rio took advantage of improving conditions to net his second double figure tench of the year at 10lb 5oz.
“After getting into a swim with a few features to target, I was hopeful of a bit of tench action, despite a slow start to the season," he said.
"I Spombed out maggots, casters and chopped worm, and fished over the top with a Tutti Frutti stick mix, Vitalin and crumbed boilie, with a maggot hookbait.
"I started to get bites, and after landing a few smaller fish I managed a 10lb 5oz female.
“It’s my second double of the year, so the tench fishing is definitely improving!”
