Just a month after winning the National Tench Championships at Linear Fisheries, Bruce Ruscoe capped off his spring campaign in perfect fashion by catching this 10lb 15oz specimen from Bawburgh Lakes, securing him a Drennan Cup Weekly Award in the process.

Bruce Roscoe with his PB toppling 10lb 15oz tench

Bruce had already landed an eight-pounder from the famous Norfolk venue when he hooked what would turn out to be his new personal best.

Leaning into it, he knew straight away that it was a far better fish and admitted that his heart was in his mouth as he teased his prize through the marginal weed and into the landing net.

In addition to the near-11-pounder and several smaller males, Bruce also banked another fine female tench scaling 9lb 13oz.

All his fish fell to the ever-popular worm kebab rig, which he cast to the back of a weedbed at around 60 yards range.

He fished this alongside a swimfeeder filled with chopped worms, over a loosefeed mix of 1mm pellets, hemp, worm soil and casters.
