The perfect roach for specimen ace

Kent angler Daniel Woolcott has already been back among the big roach, landing this 3lb 4oz cracker from Oxford’s bang in-form Linear Fisheries.

In his own words, the fish, which fell to maggot feeder tactics, was ‘as perfect an example of the species’ as he’s ever seen, which is certainly hard to argue with!

Daniel targeted a hard spot at long range where he’d introduced a bed of hempseed and Dynamite Baits GLM groundbaitin the hope of attracting the roach without too many carp being drawn into the area which can often impact the roach fishing.

The successful rig was something Daniel has used to great effect wherever he goes which consists of a 45g Drennan Feederbomb, coupled with a 5lb fluorocarbon hooklink and a size 16 hook, which is fished helicopter-style as it allows for better range and less tangles.

USING THE BEST FEEDER FISHING RODS WILL HELP YOU GET THE MOST FROM THIS STYLE OF ANGLING!
