IF there was one river on top form to target chub on the float this season, it had to be the Dorset Stour. Countless specimens were reported from it, and James Hutton was the most recent angler to enjoy the high-quality fishing on offer.
He used trotted maggot tactics and caught this 7lb 11oz fish on what was his seventh bite of the day.
James had already landed another fine chub of 6lb 12oz, alongside a few smaller specimens, before the big ‘seven’ showed up.
