A southern commercial fishery took another major step towards cementing itself as the nation’s premier bagging water when 26 anglers shared over 5,500lb of carp between them during a match.

Dorset’s Todber Manor Fisheries has been in breath-taking form and that continued from the word go, with 20 of the entrants bringing a triple figure haul to the scales.

With so many fish being caught, it was virtually impossible to call the winner, but once the weigh in had been done and scores tallied up, it was Mark Wynne’s immense 436lb 8oz haul from peg 61 on Hill View that edged it. Short pole and margin tactics did the business, with fish to 8lb coming to the net.

Second placed Jack Stamp recorded 427lb 4oz from peg 38, while Ryan Brushneen’s 378lb 2oz catch from peg 55 finished off the frame.
