A carp that has earned the reputation as the "world's biggest goldfish" has been caught again, this time by UK angler Lee Parker at a spawned-out weight of 61lb 4oz.
Lee was fishing at Bluewater Lakes in France, where a prolific week of fishing was topped off when he caught the elusive and much sought-after "Carrot," potentially one of the most famous living ornamental fish in the world.

"So I've recently returned from a trip to Bluewater Lakes in France, which turned out to be a red letter session for us," Lee told us.
"We arrived at the venue and had to draw for choice of swims, and thankfully, luck was on my side and I had first choice of swim. With that, me and my buddy took the point swim as it controlled a good part of the lake."
"I was using crushed Cell and Essential Cell boilies, mixed with house pellet, all covered in Cell Stick Mix liquid, and a 20mm Nash Citruz white wafter on a slip-d rig."
"On the first night, my tactics paid off, landing the first fish of the group with a 44lb mirror."
The next day was unusually quiet for the lake, with the fish seeming to switch off after the first night's pressure. However, Lee stuck to his plan and kept introducing bait consistently in the hope of drawing some feeding fish into his swim.

"Nothing happened throughout the day. I went to bed around midnight, and at 2am my rod went off. After a short 10-minute battle, I thought I had caught a smaller stock fish," Lee said.
"It was only when the fish showed up ready to be netted that my friend revealed to me what I had hooked when he yelled, 'You've got the Carrot.'"
"My adrenaline went through the roof as I was so excited that I had caught the fish everyone goes for, and she weighed in at 61lb 4oz."
Lee treated the fish with his carp care kit and rested it in the margins before releasing it back into the depths of the lake. The week continued well with numerous fish being banked by everyone, and to top it off, the Carrot won Lee the loot for the week too.
"The fish landed me the cash pot prize that we all paid into for the biggest fish and most fish. The rule being that if anyone caught Carrot, they won the lot."
"I've already booked for next year and can't wait for my return trip to the venue. Hopefully, it will be at least half as good as this session was!" he said.
